Capcom advertised Dead Rising 2 with a woman in a bikini. Microsoft advertised the Kinect using attractive women in revealing clothing. Playboy advertised Mortal Kombat 9 by dressing up two models in the provocative attire of the game’s females. And now, another game can be added to the list of titles that were promoted using a beautiful woman.
Saya Hikita is a 23-year-old model from Chiba, Japan. She is a “gravure idol” – a non-nude model who wears bikinis and other revealing outfits for magazines and DVDs. Gravure models are ususally young women in their early 20s who look cute and innocent, and the adorable Saya fits that bill perfectly.
Saya’s job description usually entails frolicking along a beach while smiling happily – but in December of last year, the Japanese cutie was asked to do something far outside of her normal routine.
Night of Sacrifice is an upcoming horror game about five college students who visit a place where human beings were once sacrificed to gods. The game is being released for the Wii, and makes use of the Wii remote as a flashlight. It has also been purported that the Wii Balance Board will also be implemented in the game somehow, but details about this have yet to emerge.
The developers of Night of Sacrifice decided to drum up hype for their game using the same technique as Capcom when advertising Dead Rising 2 – they hired a beautiful bikini model to play their game. Surprisingly, they didn’t ask Saya to play the game clad in a bikini; instead, she played the game in casual clothing.
The video of the Saya playing Night of Sacrifice can be viewed below.
The lack of cleavage and skin in this video is compensated for by the model’s entertaining facial expressions, exclamations, and general reactions to the game. Although she speaks only Japanese in the video, her horror can be understood universally – as well as her sobbing towards the end of the video.
