Cincinnati it is 2011 and picking out strange and unique baby names is the latest trend to say the least especially around Hollywood. But how far would you go to give your new bundle of joy a name that will stick out in the crowd. Well according to the Huffington Post a New Zealand couple was banned from naming their new son “Lucifer.”
Cincinnati mom Cindy L said “Are you kidding me, what kind of parent would do such a horrible thing to their child. This is just another example of the poor parenting that is taking place across the world. It is getting so out of control, and people wonder why the kids of today are the way they are.” Another tweet today on the subject read “i cant believe these people was going to name their child “Lucifer” #forreal tho “Lucifer”???? -____O.
Well, thank goodness at least in New Zealand the name has been banned by the names registrar, but weird ,but true fact.. It did take three different sets of parents attempting to name their children Lucifer before the ban was officially put into place the West Australian stated.
The reason for the name ban according to Odd News .com was attempting to put a stop to a lifetime of taunting and bullying to the poor recipient of the evil name. Here is a few select names of the 102 that have been rejected by the registrar that the Herald Sun posted recently.

Baron, Bishop, Duke, General, Judge, Justice, King, Knight and Mr, all deemed too similar to titles. Messiah also got the thumbs down. The number 89, and the letters, C, D, I and T saw the same fate, reports the Herald Sun.
Kayla U of Cincinnati said “So now we are going to be told what we can and can not name our children? While I do not agree with the name Lucifer for a child,I do not agree with anyone being in control of what I can name my child. This is just one step closer to the government having full control over people, New Zealand first, but I will bet this type of control will start to make its way to the United States before ewe know it, soon they will just issue out our kids names like they do their social security numbers.”
