It is always a thrill for family historians to find a photograph of a building that was important in the lives of their ancestors. As Garland develops new areas and redevelops old areas, many buildings are being torn down. For example, the Garland Shopping Center once located near the intersection of S. Garland Road and W. Miller Road, is now just a parking lot.
This summer, take your camera along as you travel through town and save a building for the next generation of family historians.
Share your photographs:

- Newsletter: Create a summer newsletter for your family or with your genealogy group that shows all the buildings you’ve saved over the Summer
- Garland Genealogy Examiner: Of course let me know what you’ve saved! I will be sharing my photographs throughout the summer and would love to see what everyone else is doing.
